Rise and Shine Shower Melts to Wake You Up

You may or may not know this about me, but I am not a morning person. Never have been, doubt I ever will be. I have a hard time sleeping and experience bad dreams frequently. I can’t think of a time I’ve ever felt rested upon waking up. On days I have to get up particularly early, it’s a serious struggle for me to get moving. That is the inspiration for these invigorating shower melts that are homemade and natural. Use them in your morning shower and you will be starting your day off on the right foot. Here’s the recipe for Rise and Shine Shower Melts.

Rise and Shine Shower Melts

1/4 cup cornstarch

2 tbsp baking soda

2 tbsp water

10 drops grapefruit essential oil

10 drops orange essential oil

10 drops bergamot essential oil

Pour cornstarch into a bowl.

Add water a teaspoon or two at a time while stirring. Add essential oils at this time as well.

Pour in baking soda and stir, breaking up any clumps. The mixture should be similar to that of wet sand.

Scoop and firmly press into molds or an ice cube tray.

Allow to dry for a couple hours.

Gentle pop out of molds and store in a sealed container – ideally somewhere dark, cool, and dry.

To use, take a shower melt or two and put it on the inside ledge of the bathtub where some water will hit it.

When you shower the water will melt it away and release the essential oils into the air.

Grapefruit essential oil is an invigorating scent that helps to relieve mental and physical fatigue. Orange essential oil gives a feeling of vigor while bergamot essential oil has a refreshing and uplifting quality. The three of the scents blend beautifully together.

Have you tried shower melts before? How do you wake up in the morning?

That’s the goal. 🙂 I hate it when I see something on Pinterest or wherever and it’s complicated and fussy. Too frustrating! I hope you enjoy these shower melts. 🙂
