Peppermint and Green Tea Cooling Spray

As forecasted, the heat certainly did arrive in my town. (Cheering!) I have been implementing some of the strategies from the 9 Ways to Cool Down Without Air Conditioning post, but I wanted something else that I could keep on hand and would provide an instant effect. Using just a couple types of tea, here is the recipe for my homemade Peppermint and Green Tea Cooling Spray.

Homemade Peppermint and Green Tea Cooling Spray DIY Recipe

Peppermint and Green Tea Cooling Spray

1 tsp loose leaf or 1 tea bag green tea

1 tsp loose leaf or 1 tea bag peppermint tea

1 cup boiling water

Pour boiling water over the tea leaves (either in a tea bag or a diffuser).

Steep for 5 minutes.

Remove tea leaves and allow to cool. Place in the fridge to speed up this process.

Pour into a spray bottle and store in the refrigerator.

To use, spray onto face, arms, chest, or anywhere else for a cooling effect.

Similarly to how the Re-Energizing Foot Spray works, the menthol in peppermint creates a cool, tingly sensation on the skin. Green tea is packed with antioxidants which makes it useful in treating sun-damaged skin.

How do you stay cool in the summer heat?

Thanks so much! Yeah, tea is so full of antioxidants, it’s great to use topically as well. 🙂 Enjoy!
